Huron Mining is a contractor with a marriage of experience between surface and underground construction. Our goal is to complete all projects with Zero Harm and with professional workmanship, thus leaving our clients satisfied and our employees proud of their work.

Since 2004, we have completed several shaft collars and mine adits, as well as a wide range construction projects in underground mines, and continue to service mining and civil contractor clientele with specialized drilling and blasting, high pressure grouting and anchor installations. We believe that promoting a positive attitude throughout our workforce and maintaining a team-approach in our relationships with clients is paramount to completing projects safely, on schedule, and to client expectations.

Meet the Executive Team

Greg Seguin

Alain Chenard P.Eng

President

Alain brings more than 25 years of mining experience with exposure to mines across the country. A professional engineer and graduate from Laurentian University’s mining engineering program, Alain has served as Project Engineer on several large mine construction and shaft sinking projects. Alain has extensive experience with lateral development, shaft sinking, and underground construction. Clients recognize Alain for his unwavering commitment to safety and his practical approach and solutions to overcoming project challenges.

Greg Seguin P.Eng, MBA, M.A.Sc

General Manager

Greg brings nearly 20 years of experience in the mining and construction industries. Born and raised in Sudbury, Greg is a professional engineer trained in mechanical engineering as well as mineral resources engineering. He holds a master’s degree in business administration and is well seasoned in servicing, maintaining, and constructing surface metallurgical plants across Northern Ontario and fully understands construction projects in all facets of the mining industry.

Brant McChristie

Area Manager

Brant has been working in the underground mining industry for more than 20 years. He has held positions at various mines across Canada, ranging from mine technician to mine superintendent for companies such as Lakeshore Gold and Kirkland Lake Gold. Brant is a well respected miner in the Timmins mining camp and oversees our work with those clients.

Gary Stephen

Superintendent

For the past 15 years, Gary has been an underground miner involved in many construction and development projects. Gary is a professional and experienced superintendent who sets up the crews for success and always has safety as the primary deliverable. When on site, he and his crew will work with the client to ensure all expectations are being met. His specialties include the concrete and steel works in underground infrastructure projects.

Céleste Bodson

Vice President - Finance

With a strong business background, Céleste Bodson, Vice President of Finance at Huron Mining, brings 20 years of leadership experience. A graduate of Cambrian College with a diploma in Business Administration and Accounting, and a Payroll Leadership Professional certified through the National Payroll Institute, Céleste is proficient in overseeing financial, accounting, and human resources functions, contributing significantly to Huron Mining's ongoing fiscal success. Her extensive experience underscores her proficiency in strategic financial planning, risk management, payroll compliance, and fostering cohesive teams.


Our History

Huron Mining was established in 2004 by Guy Chenard, an experienced shaft miner who started the company to excavate shaft, raise and adit collars to the major shaft sinking and mine development contractors, as well as specialty drilling and blasting to mining clients. Since 2004, Huron Mining has excavated more than 25 shaft collars and has completed countless other drilling and blasting projects. Today, Huron Mining is led by Alain Chenard, P.Eng and continues to evolve with additional specializations and service offerings.

Today, Huron Mining remains equipped with the depth of skills, equipment and expertise needed to support mining clients across Northern Ontario and Canada.
